Location of Blue Tile Heritage Center

Find us in the heart of the famed "Capital of Overseas Chinese" known as Jiangmen, on the Pearl River Delta in the center of Guangdong Province.

Some six million overseas Chinese claim Taishan, Kaiping, Xinhui, or Enping* as their ancestral home. All lie within Jiangmen. The region also includes Heshan, and Jiangmen City.

*In Cantonese, Toisan, Hoiping, Sunwui. and Yanping. Jiangmen is Kongmoon in Cantonese

Before and After

The historic buildings of the Blue Tile Heritage Center display a fascinating combination of Chinese and Western styles, unique to the architecture of Guangdong Province. Ornate and deeply considered, they profoundly reflect Lam Tee Chew's experience living in areas around the South China Sea.

The Dexun Lin (Lam Tak Choon) Ancestral Hall was successfully restored in 2023. Two "twin mansions" and the water pavilion are slated for restoration.

Passing on folk art traditions to the next generations

Join us to preserve and celebrate
a rich culture

Blue Tile Heritage Center is restoring four stunning, century-old buildings

in Guangdong, China representing architecture of the Republican Era

at its highest level of artistry and craftsmanship.

Our name celebrates the ancestral hall's extremely rare, cobalt blue ceramic tile roof.

Our urgent need is to continue the restoration to

prevent catastrophic deterioration. Without immediate action,

the costs and complexity of restoration will skyrocket,

risking the loss of this  irreplaceable cultural treasure.

All four buildings have been designated in China as historic architecture.
